Iowa COMPASS provides information to Iowa consumers and family members about potential sources of funding for the purchase of assistive technology.  When a consumer requests help in finding funding for a specific piece of equipment, Iowa COMPASS will ask a series of questions to determine which public programs and private organizations might be able to help. It provides information about local and state agencies that loan out AT devices. For more information contact:

Iowa Able Alternative Financial Loan Program with reduced interest loans are available for purchase of assistive technology (AT) devices or services, including home modifications
 
Recycled Used Devices Programs make used assistive technology devices available at little or no cost.
 
The Iowa Program for Assistive Technology is funded under the Assistive Technology Act of 1998, as amended by the U.S. Department of Education, Rehabilitation Services Administration. IPAT, the statewide assistive technology program for Iowans, is a program of Iowa's University Center for Excellence on Disabilities.
