Beginning Monday, September 12th, Easterseals Iowa will begin construction to resurface the main parking lot.

For the first two days, September 12th and 13th, the main entrance from NE 66th will be inaccessible. Please enter camp through the back entrance off NE 8th Court.

Please make plans to inform your clients, guardians, or any visitors you may have on site during this time.

The remainder of the week, September 14th-16th, the back half of the parking lot will be inaccessible. This is the area towards the tree line. All week, parking will be impacted at our main office. Employees will be encouraged to park along Lake Cheerio like we do for many events, there will be limited space available.

I appreciate your understanding and flexibility as we make this much needed improvement to our facilities!

The Easterseals Iowa Assistive Technology Program works with Iowans to learn about and access the assistive technology they need as part of their daily lives to learn, work, play, and participate in community life safely and independently. The Easterseals Iowa assistive technology team serves Iowans of all ages with all types of disabilities, including persons who are aging. Assistive technology is any device that allows a person with a disability to perform a task they are unable to perform.

Meet Assistive Technology Client, Shantel Martin

I was introduced to the Easterseals Iowa Assistive Technology Center by Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation Services. Access to the Lending Library has been a life changing experience for me. It has given me that self-sufficiency that I didn’t have, nor that I knew I was really lacking or needing. The devices that I was able to take home and use have changed my life for the better - I have more freedoms. I have more energy even because I’m not struggling to find a way to do things. The Assistive Technology Center and the devices are wonderful. I feel completely blessed to have this place. And I am grateful for the changes that assistive technology and the team here have had on my life.
